1923年大阪府に生まれる。1937年大阪、中之島洋画研究所、1941年東京、川端画学校に学ぶ。1952年京都市立美術大学（現・京都市立芸術大学）日本画研究科修了。1965年具体美術協会会員となる。

Born in Osaka Prefecture in 1923. Studied at the Nakanoshima Institute of Western Painting in 1937. Studied at the Kawabata Painting School, Tokyo in 1941.Graduated from the Department of Japanese Painting, Kyoto Municipal College of Fine Arts (presently, Kyoto City University of Arts) in 1952. Became a member of the Gutai Art Association in 1965.
